Born and raised in former East Germany, Marcel Dettmann developed a love for electronic music from an early age – new wave, post-punk and industrial music to start with. He’s long been associated with Germany’s most famous techno record store Hardwax, as well as the club Ostgut, where he became a resident DJ in 1999. Ostgut later became Berghain, and Dettmann still holds a residency here, pushing the limits of techno.
