Joèl Hoop (The Netherlands, October 10, 1992), better known professionally by his stage name Joey AK, is a rapper from The Netherlands and has a Surinamese heritage. He is the brother of rapper Drechter and started making music because of him. In 2017, Joey released the track “Luitenant” and began to make a name for himself in the music industry. Following this, he appeared in a session at 101-Barz for the first time a year later. Joey scored many hits in recent years by working with major Dutch artists. In 2018, The Blockparty released a song called ‘HUTS’ with Joey and some other Dutch rappers which has been streamed almost 44 million times on Spotify. He also collaborate with Henkie T for the song ‘Snelle Jongen Dunne Jasje in 2019 which has been streamed 12,5 million times.
