Larissa de Macedo Machado (Rio de Janeiro, March 30, 1993) is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, actress, and dancer, better known by her stage name Anitta. She started singing in the church choir at 8 years old. At 17 years old, she decided to pursue an artistic career, after taking English classes. Anitta won the ‘Revelation of Music’ award the same year. Her single ‘Meiga e Abusada‘ from 2012 was such a big success, that she signed a contract at Warner Music Brazil. One year later, Anitta got into prominence with the single ‘Show das Poderosas’. In 2016 she became internationally known when she was selected to perform at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in her home city. During her career, Anitta earned several prestigious awards, including five times the ‘MTV Europe Music Awards’. Billboard had named her the 15th most influential artist on social networks in the world.
